A Lesson Before Dying

We've about wrapped up the pre-event blogging of the book, but now the fun stuff begins.

OK, so a Robert Burns line probably doesn't belong here, but I'm never one to pass up a Burns reference.  But here we are, down to the final few chapters of Jefferson's life and some sense of the person Grant has become or may become.  Here is where I want to talk about what is, too me, the primary question of the novel:  What makes a man, a man?

I love the women in this book -- everyone of them! They remind me of the women, black and white, I came to know and love as a child growing up in Georgia in the early 1960s.
